Out of all the books we’ve read this year , My favourite was Varjak Paw. This was because Varjak Paw is very imaginative and it made me imagine everything I read. It also reminded me of another book we read- The diary of a killer cat.
There was a small difference in the two books. Varjak is a Mesopotamian blue cat and Tuffy is a tabby cat. The diary of a killer cat is set out like a real diary but Varjak Paw is set out differently. The similarity in these two is that both of the cats are stubborn for example Varjak went out into the garden when he wasn’t aloud to and Tuffy kills small animals even when his owner Ellie cries.

well done Anna Maria you have done well
you could compere Varjak to Tuffy
would you feel if you were Varjak

    • elkhz says:

How long did it take you to write this? there are no similarities except they’re cat’s. you used the there. EXELENT.

    • hatha says:

wow Anna-Maria that’s a lot of writing and I agree with your choice of picking varjak paw being your favrote book

Out of all the books we have read this year, I enjoyed ‘Ice Palace’, because it was gripping and always made we want to read on.
Ice palace is similar to Varjak Paw because they both have to find some one and some thing. zak

I love all the books we have read but the one that stands out most for me is Varjak Paw because I usually read really chatty books like Diary of a killer Cat. So Varjak I Paw is different but I really like it. Varjak Paw is quite similar to Ice Palace in the way that they are both mystery stories and Ivan in Ice Palace is trying to save his brother and Varjak is trying to save his family. Even though the two stories have there similarities they are not the same story, Varjak is being told he should go to save the family but Ivan leaves with out permission.

Mae I totally agree with your opinion. I like the way you compared Ice Palace with Varjak Paw.
By the way you wrote their wrong.
Could you tell me the chatty books you read?

Out of all of the books we’ve read this year, I have enjoyed Varjak Paw.This was because there is a mystery to the book and a bit of adventure that Varjak has to find a dog to save his family from the man and the two black cats.
This book is similar to Ice Palace because in both books the main character go’s on a journey. Ivan has to go on a journey to save his brother from Starjik. Varjak has to find a dog to save his family from the man and two black cats.

Out of all of the books we’ve read this year, I have enjoyed Varjak paw. This was because I liked the way it”s structured. It’s also very exciting and it makes you want to read on. Also it’s similar to hodgeheg and ice palace because Max, Ivan and Varjak go out to save their family. The character I like the most was Varjak because he is different to everyone in his family he is also very caring and very intelligent.

Out of all the books we’ve read this year, my favorite is Varjak Paw! I like it because it’s
a tense story already even though I’ve not read all of it. It is similar to the books Ice Palace and Hodgeheg because they all loose something and they go out to solve it.

Out of all the books we have read this year. I have enjoyed Varjak Paw the most . This was because Varjak Paw is the most mysterious book we have read . On every chapter we have read there has been a cliffhanger so I just want to read more and more. Varjak Paw has some similarities with Ice Palace because Varjak goes on an adventure as Ivan. They both have to go through scary things, like when Ivan had to go and save his little brother and Varjak had to go and get a dog for Elder Paw.

Out of all of the books we’ve read this year I have enjoyed varjak paw the most. The reason I liked varjak paw the most is because I like mystery books. This book is like ice palace because it is also a mystery ,Ivan goes on a journey to save his brother, varjak goes to save his family. But varjak is a cat and Ivan is a boy. Varjak paw is also like the diary of the killer cat because tuffy is a cat and varjak is a cat!! I liked varjk the most because he always wanted to go to explore the world and I want to explore the world!

Even though we have not read all of this book, I am enjoying Varjak Paw the most because it is very gripping and all you want to do is read on. It is similar to the Ice Palace because they both have a mysterious feeling to them and both have a lot description in the books, also Varjak has to find a dog while Ivan had to find an Ice Palace. My favourite character is Tuffy because he us hilarious and sarcastic and thinks of funny explanations for things. My least favourite character is Julius because he is a bully to Varjak and tries to make everyone turn against him. I think the author has described the settings and cats wonderfully! It has a lot adjectives like our other books. It is like the rickshaw girl because Naima wants to have a job and Varjak wants to go outside. The funniest is the Diary of the killer cat because it is sarcastic. The scariest is Varjak Paw, especially when Varjak falls from the wall. The most exciting is the rickshaw girl because it is exciting when she was driving the rickshaw and then crashed it. This is the best to worst for me: Varjak Paw, Diary of a killer cat, Rickshaw Girl, Ice palace and then Hodgeheg. Overall I thought all the books were great and I enjoyed them

Out of all the books we have read this year, I have enjoyed Varjak Paw the most. This is because it is gripping, has some humour and it is mysterious. It was funny when Varjak thought a car was a dog and the way the author (SF Said) describes Varjak’s wet fur. Varjak Paw was similar to another book called ‘The Rickshaw Girl’ because Naima tries to find a job to help her family and Varjak tries to find a dog to help his family.

I think the funniest book that we’ve read is the diary of the killer cat because there is a lot of sarcasm and he’s cheeky. The most scariest is the Ice palace because he has to find his brother but on the way he has to face a lot of obstacles along the way. The most exiting story was varjak paw because a strange man appeared at the house and elder paw has already seen the man and varjak paw learns the skills of Jalal. Two of the books that we’ve read have had cats (killer cat and varjak paw)killer cat is funny and sarcastic but varjak paw is serious and gripping. My favourite character is Ivan because he’s brave, generous, smart and escaped a lot of stuff just to save his brother.

Out of all of the books we’ve read this year , I have enjoyed Varjak paw and this was because its gripping and its mysterious. I also have another reason why I liked Varjak paw and that is everytime something suspicious is happening a question appears in your brain trying to work out why are they doing this . This book also reminded me another book we’ve read the ice palace because in Varjak paw the contessa has disappeared but in the ice palace his brother has disappeared and they both need to find a salutation to the problem.

  13. colgc says:

Out of all the books we’ve read this year, I enjoyed Varjak paw the most this is because it has adventure and mystery and action. compare to another the funniest and the scariest is ice palace.
The similarity of ice palace and Varjak paw is Ivan and Varjak go on a adventure to find some thing.
I liked Varjak because he wonders what a dog is and nether ever gives up his task and just keeps searching.

Out of all of the books we`ve read this year ,I have enjoyed Ice Palace and Varjak Paw. This is because they make me want to read on. They are a bit adventurous because in the Ice Palace Ivan goes on a adventure to save his brother and Varjak has to go on a adventure to find a dog. Ivan has a small family and Varjak Paw has a bigger family. Ivan is my best character because he is kind and caring person . My second favourite character is Elder paw because he cares for Varjak and he is the only one to listen to him.

Out of all the books we’ve read this year I have enjoyed the hodgeheg the best, This was because it had lots of humour and I particularly liked the bit where Max the hedgehog muddled up his words. I also think that the hodgeheg has a similarity with the diary of a killer cat because both books have humour. The only difference is that Tuffy the cat and Max the hedgehog act differently.Tuffy the cat likes to kill other animals and Max the hedgehog just wants to find out how humans cross the road. He doesn’t kill any one!!

Out of all of the books we’ve read this year I have enjoyed the rickshaw girl because of the art and pictures .its about a girl whos dad is ill and he cant work for a while so Naima decides to get changed into boys clothes and she tries to ride the rickshaw but she crashes into a bush. rickshaw girl is quite similar to hodgeheg because max tries to cross the road and naima tries to ride the rickshaw. by Yasmin.

Out of all the books we’ve read this year, I have enjoyed Diary Of A Killer Cat the most.
This is because it is REALLY sarcastic, funny and gripping .Also he kept blaming other people.
It’s similar to Varjak Paw because they’re talking cats that get told off for nothing. There is a few differences:
Tuffy is a tabby cat and Vajak is a Mesopotamian blue cat.
The book Varjak Paw is more serious and less informal.

  18. meadm says:

Anna-Maria I totally agree although I wouldn’t of compared the book to Dairy of a killer cat but it was a good idea. Maybe you could compare it to other books. What do you think will happen next in Varjak Paw?

  19. hatha says:

Out of all the books we have read this year, I am enjoying Varjak Paw the best. This is because it has been sad and gripping. I felt really sorry for Varjak when no one believed him about the man and the two black cats; I think Varjak must have felt left out. I also liked Diary of a Killer Cat but it was very different and not so serious. I liked the sarcasm in the book of Diary of a killer cat, Tuffy was being told off for going outside hunting and in Varjak Paw none of the cats go out hunting.

I like the killer cat because it is interesting and funny .My favourite bit of the story was when they said ” you killed the rabbit and killed the mouse and bird” And my sad bit was when the neighbour said ” my rabbit is dead ” it made me feel sad. My favourite characters were the cat, rabbit, bird and Elle and mother, father. The other book I enjoyed was The Hodgeheg it was also funny and there were lots of animals in it.

My favourite book we have read this year is Varjak Paw. This is because of the cliff-hangers in the book and the mystery in it. It is like all the books we have read this year in different ways. It is like the Hodgeheg because of how Varjak has never been outside the house and Max has never been outside the garden. It is like The Rickshaw Girl because of how Naima and Max both want to do something they shouldn’t do. It is like the Ice Palace because of the mystery. And finally there are cats in both Varjak Paw and Diary of a Killer Cat. My favourite character is Tuffy because of the sarcastic way about him. My least favourite character is Julius because he is very full of himself. The funniest is Diary of a Killer Cat and the most exciting is Varjak Paw. Ruby

Varjak and Tuffy are my favourite characters. The book about varjak paw is a mysterions book and a little bit of the diary of the killer cat is too.
